OUR ONLINE CLASSES ARE:

  • Student-oriented

  • Structured

  • Dynamic

Every Lingu teacher strives to make the digital classroom a safe, inclusive, and rich learning environment, but that requires the support of all the students as well to help create this learning environment.
Being active and ready to participate means that small group/Partner activities work smoothly and learning is optimal for everyone.

The following rules were designed to maximize learning and apply to all Lingu classes.

STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO:

  1. You must be fully present and available for your class.

If you log in to an online class but do not respond to your teacher's questions, the teacher may move you into the Waiting Room. Further, logging into a class while driving, at work, the hospital, an appointment, or doing other things, you are not considered to be PRESENT and AVAILABLE to fully participate in the course. Classes go well when all students arrive prepared and ready to learn together.

  2. Your camera must be turned on for all Lingu classes. Every time. No exceptions.

    πŸ“Έ

If you fail to turn on your camera, the teacher may move you into the Waiting Room for the duration of the class.

  3. You must have a working microphone for the duration of your lesson.

Please check your tech set up before class to make sure you have everything in order.

  4. You must be in a SAFE, QUIET environment while attending our online classes.

    πŸ“š

A safe, quiet environment is a room at home with no disturbances, an office, a library, or another place where you can participate without interruptions or interference. Please note that any form of background noise or activity is disruptive to the classroom environment.
In the same way, that if you were sitting in a physical classroom playing games, or children were running randomly into the classroom talking, or scrolling Tiktok on your phone would disturb a class, the same is true for the online classroom.

  5. You must be on time for the class.

    πŸ•š

Joining the class more than 15 minutes after the class has started is not allowed. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your class, you may find the room is locked to late participants. For example, this may happen if you try to log in halfway through the class session. Late arrivals are disruptive to the class flow and can interfere with the students already present. Please be sure to arrive promptly for each class.

We hope that you have an amazing class and learn a lot of Norwegian! πŸ‡³πŸ‡΄
