By definition, the 50 hours social studies will require you to spend 50 hours on the course. However, some learning activites (like independent study time, writing essays and reviewing essays from other students) are not tracked, so consequently we accept up to 20% deviation from the 50 hours tracked time.

If you have gone through the learning resources much faster than the listed time estimate for each chapter, you are likely to see the following error when trying to request a course certificate:

Tracked learning time is class attendance and time spent on lessons. You therefore have two options to get more tracked time. You can choose one, or do both.

  1. Attend more classes.
Check you calendar for when the next social studies classes are held.
  2. Review completed course lessons.
Go to the course lessons, and select the chapter you found most interesting. Click the New attempt link to create a new session for this particular lesson. You will need to go through all pages again, review videos, repeat quizzes, etc. In the process, you'll be tracking more learning time.
